I have a buddy that has a 2000 F-250 V10 auto that had the ABS light come on. Also the cruise control does not work, speedo meter, and the O/D light on the shifter is flashing. I did a search and found that the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) could possibly be the problem. Anyone have any ideas if this is the problem?

Have friend with same issue, same symptoms. Replace of VSS took 15 minutes at most. Part was not available in aftermarket parts store, but was available at dealer & price was minimal..... VSS was located on rear differential if I remember correctly.

I know it should of went in the gasser section but there is no one viewing that section and I need some advise quick. I figured this type problem had nothing to do with the engine more with the trucks sensors which are probably common no matter which engine it has.

NEED BEEF give it a try?
Had the same problem with my early '99 350 with 7.3. Replaced the VSS and everything was fine. I also had a defective ABS sensor in the front driver side wheel once that caused the cruise to not operate. Replaced that and the cruise started working again. But since you speedo is affected, it would most likely be the VSS.
