How many miles on V10?
Who on this thread has the most miles on thier V-10? Any problems? I want to get an idea of the longevity of this engine. I have 31K with no problems yet.

Little over 62,000 miles on mine with the only engine problem being the IAC valve which was replaced at around 35,000 miles. Couple other little problems with the truck but can't really complain too much. [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

got up to 44k on the first V10 before Ford replaced it due to piston slap. (slap started at about 16k) Now have close to 60k on the FQR motor. Other than IAC no problems.

one tranny at 85k
think it needs brakes ? soon...
change oil every 3k to 4k miles I use dino 5w30
one A/C condencer(sp) cause of a rock
replaced one coil pak,cause I ripped the spark plug boot [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif[/img]
All an ALL I am very happy [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif[/img]

Tranny is starting to feel weak.....need to start saving so I can go see Brain!!!!

91000 so far. The only problem I have had is numerous brake rotor replacements.

Other than that, it has never even been in the shop.

60k Miles on Mine.

IAC at 55k

Oil (Mobil 1 10-30 and now 5-30) every 3k

Brakes (new rotors under warranty @34k), just re-did pads at 60k

New leaf springs (infamous creak, isolators under warranty @34k)

Other than lock actuators, no problems...

Transmission service every 30k, fluids - including diffs - as per book.

60K right at 3 years since delivery. Use Mobil 1 every 6-7K miles, replace about 1/2 - 1 quart at 4k. Getting 13.5 - 14.5 mpg at 75 mph.
Original rotors, pads replaced on front at 17K for rattle. Just starting to get brake pedal pulsations when braking coming off freeway. Ford replaced cab mounts under front passenger compartment at 35K for clunk. Otherwise runs smooth as ever. Just bought an 03 to replace wifes Expedition.
