After many weeks of research and deliberation my wife and I got a V10. It is a 2002 CrewCab 4x4 F250, with 3.73, XLT, white, long bed. It was a big decision trying to weigh pros/cons of gas vs diesel, but for what we use a truck for a diesel was additional money that was not really necessary. Especially in light of the higher upfront cost of the diesel engine itself. This forum played an integral part in helping make the decision.
I drive less then 15k per year, stop and go traffic during the week. And roughly twice a month I tow a 2500 pound boat less than 1 hour away.
Also the Ford CC interior in our opinion is superior to the 2500HD Chevy. And we felt we would get roughly the same mileage as a 2500HD CC 4x4 Chevy equipped with a vortec 6.0 and 4.10 rearend when compared to a v10 4x4 with a 3.73. It may not be exactly the same, but it was close enough for us to continue leaning towards the Ford. In comparison to a Dodge, the 360 was anemic, and the Hemi was not on the market long enough for me to feel comfortable purchasing one, the new body style CC interior was not as big as the Ford
So we went with the gas powered V10 Ford.
Again this forum was great. It was very easy to research and make an informed decision when making our vehicle purchase.
Congratulations on your new purchase, I hope yours turns out to be as trouble free as mine has been. Did you happen to get the reverse sensor on your truck? With a long bed I would say that it might be a huge advantage to have it, anyways enjoy your new truck !! I just pull in and get out, no one else around!!
Good luck and if you need any mod suggestions you are in a very bad place. I hope your wallet can keep up!!

Glad to hear you made the leap. I am trying to decide about that leap myself. I will probably wait until the first of the year to see if Ford matches Chevy on the rebates. I am really sitting on the fence about whether to go V10 or Diesel. I really don't have any towing needs for the diesel, but have heard a wide swing of gas mileage on the V10. Anything from 8 MPG up to 14 MPG. I drive alot of miles a year and 8 would kill me. Just wondering if you had checked yours yet?

wufpack, don't forget, tho, that the PSD is a $4000 option plus it is 14 quarts to change the oil. You gotta weigh that against the increased mileage. My V10 gets about 12.5 all around.
