Ok I can't stand this sound from my daul exhaust. What I want is to make this V-10 sound good, without headers, and under $500. If I have to go back to a single 3inch so be it. Does anyone have suggestion as to what to do? If anyone can tell me what I should get, it gonna be done ASAP!! thanks
What kind of exhaust do you have now? I might be interested in buying it, Im looking for a borla exhaust. What is the problem with the setup you have now, too noisy?
I have a custom after cat dual system with 2.5" pipe and dual 30" aluminized glasspaks running steight to the rear bumper and love it. I had streight pipes but that was too LOUD. Sounds great now but made no change to my mild flutter. Future plans are Banks PP (without their after cat sys.) and Zoodad as well as Hypertec and larger MAF sensor. By the way, don't your 315's rub?

DJR 17- I have a custom 2-3/4 dual from the head pipes. I put on two(2) Highflow cats and two(2) SuperTurbos. This setup isnt too loud, but people know when I'm coming. And theres know mistake that its me.(signature V-10 sound, like a 6er on steroids ) But i want a better sounding exhaust, something with better rumble, more like a v-8. I don't think that you would be interested in this exhaust. I would be a hak-job just to get it off to.
Dr. Matt- My 315s only rub if I turn locked to the right, and it just clicks on the front spring. I want to put in a front leverer and F350 rear blocks though.
Bummer you're still undecided on mufflers. Just a couple thoughts. Could you find a shop that has several brands is stock and try different ones(some shops will do this for ya) Also, you could look at www.edelbrock.com I used one of their RPM series mufflers on my 97. It was pretty mellow.

Funny you guys should bring that up :-) A friend of mine has gone through 3 different setups and still hasn't found the one he likes. I think the first one was the best but he would never admit to that since its all cut up now. He's just got a cherry bomb on it now and it really sounds like crap. Its really hard to get those V-10's to sound as big as it actually is. We always joke around cause it kinda sounds like a pissed off chain saw. Another friend of mine has a do@#$ V-10 and it actually sounds really good. Its got dual 2.5" to the back and maybe 2 feet of 3.5" crome tips. I would try to go bigger with the pipes because they really like to pop when you get on them.

you will NEVER get the V10 to sound like a V8. It just has a different sound.
I am running a custom cat back system with a FLowmaster 50 series truck muffler. 3" in with dual 2.5" outlets. So far this is the best I could find. On my 99, I tried 2 different setups. The 1st was the muffler delete option. TOO LOUD. The 2nd one was a 40 series Flowmaster. NOt bad, but still kind of annoying. I was able to listen to 2 V10s also, One had a glasspack with single in dual outlets. Very tinny sounding. The other had a Walker Superturbo muffler. Can't remember exactly, but I was not impressed. I have to say that the best sounding one I have heard was from someone on this list ( I think) He had a banks Stinger kit(single 3.5").
