I ordered a 2001 V10

Well I ordered a 2001 V10 CC LWB F350 SRW on December 21st. My wife is sick of hearing about it, and I needed to tell someone.

I guess I will be spending alot of time on this forum. I really weighed the gas versus diesel. And in the end, I couldn'y justify the extra cash.

The dealer told me my truck should be in, in about 12 weeks. I can't wait.

Re: I ordered a 2001 V10

Glad to hear you're excited. What were you driving before? I still am jazzed (had it 4 months now) to climb into the cab and almost be eye ball to eye ball with the 18 wheelers after driving a mid size pickup before this. It's real funny how no one tailgates this truck or pulls out in front of it... they kinda back out of the way now, HA! and I'm very curteous to other drivers......All the best...

I also have mine on order and haven,t been able to get an eta or VIN # out of the dealer yet so every day I spend time looking at all the forums and just waiting. These have been long slow days.

Imagine being actually eyeball to eyeball.

Oh, you thought I meant MY truck? Nope, but I wish I could show you these pictures of a medium duty truck with a pickup box. If I had a scanner, I'd post them. It's HUGE, and makes it look in the picture like it'd make my 3" lifted 4wd 35" tire'd Chevy look s-m-a-l-l.

Re: I ordered a 2001 V10

I am ready to order mine within a week. Sounds like it's taking longer than the 8-10 weeks they told me huh? I have been able to find $200 over invoice on my F250 Lariat for best price so far. How about you guys?

Re: I ordered a 2001 V10

Well I had a 99 F250 with the V10 SC LB. I sold it in May of last year, and have been driving my 95 Crown Vic since then.

I was going to get the Diesel, but I once again could not justify paying that exra cash. Especially since by last V10 was Allright.

As far as cost, well my grandpa retired from Ford so I am getting it on the Z plan. Which is a pretty cool incentive to get employees to buy the cars they build. I think it is approx 3% below invoice, minus the delivery charge. Then Ford pays the dealer back the 3%, so everyone is reasonably happy.

I'll let everyone know when I get a VIN number.

Re: I ordered a 2001 V10

...I would also tend to say that 12-weeks is a bit too long. I got mine in eight weeks to the day we punched the order in at the computer. For those that are new...each dealership receives allocations on what vehicles they can sell. More trucks they sell, the higher the allocation. Might be worth checking around to see if someone has a better allocation, therefore would get truck sooner. I was lucky to have my dealer right in the middle of farm country so they MOVE a BUNCH of trucks. Good luck...they are WORTH the wait!!
