Injector Cleaner?

Anyone using spray throttle body cleaner or in-the-tank fuel injector cleaner? I used Gumout spray and tank additive religiously when I had a 351 with a Holley 4 bbl. carb. Not so sure I need/want to do this with a fuel injected motor. Any opinions?

Re: Injector Cleaner?

I've used Chevron Pro-Guard in many of my vehicles with no problems. Cost-Co has it in a 2 pk for about $6.

Re: Injector Cleaner?

My question is will it cause any harm? I've done a number of things that I "THINK" are helpful to the longevity of my truck, but would hate to hasten a components demise by using something harmful in it.

Re: Injector Cleaner?

Like Robb, I'm concerned with any damage to rubber or composite parts caused by this stuff in the fuel lines and spraying it into the throttle body.

Re: Injector Cleaner?

I use chevron fuel system in my cobra race car, ( 4 cam 4.6 L 0 and in my f250 v10, there is nothing wrong with using this product on a regular basis. But every 30,000 miles I have also still had a fuel system cleaning done. Still makes a big improvment in driveability. Like getting a major tune up.
