just bought a 2000 f350 with v10???

hey guys i just bought a 2000 f350 it has a v10. its the first gas truck i have had in a long time. i only bought as winter truck to put my sander on it. it seems to run really good it has a 146k miles on it. how many miles should i get out of it. is there any known problems i should know about with theses engines. thanks

02 F550xl 4x4, psd, 488 gears, 9ft utility body, 9ft Fisher m/c plow, black, Diablo chip, 4 strobes in grill. Whelen light bar, lund visor the list goes on and on. 17k miles

06 F550, xlt, 6.0, auto, 4x4, super cab, black with a 9' flatbed. and polished alluminum wheels.

06 f350 lariat crew cab, 4x4, head studs, mbrp exhaust, diablo chip and gauges.

When I worked at U-haul our maintenance guy had a 99 E-350 van with the 6.8 v10...It had 425k miles on her it looked and sounded like crap but she was still kickin it.

straight exhaust. (sounds like a jet taking off)
285/75/16 BFG all terrain.
165k miles and no problems!!!
ALSO
1995 F-250 2wd xl 7.3 Powerstroke 5spd.
330k miles and a straigh exhaust. Sold and missed dearly.

The early Triton motors would occasionally warp an exhaust manifold, and even less often spit out a spark plug. But otherwise an awsome power plant. I wasted 2 1/2 years wrenching at a Ford dealer.

The problem wasn't the manifolds, it was the cheap studs that broke after a few heat cycles.

a $130 set of ebay headers and some M8x1.25x35 stainless bolts take care of it, and get you some mileage and power.

Yeah. my buddy 04 rotted off the manifold bolts at 23k. the dealer replaced the manifolds and used arp bolts under warranty
