Well after all this time of not having the dreaded under the driver floor knock....I have it. *** is it? If I turn sharp quick left or right I will hear the knocking noise from under the driver side foot area, I checked the tightness of all the bolts so not sure what it is....any ideas ? Spook, I saw in another thread I think it was Donahoe said that the sway bar end links might have concave washers on it at the frame mount. Says to switch them with flat washers. Might be worth a looksee...
When you did the Jack-it kit, did you use the almost half bolt with the eccentric washers in the upper trac bar bracket?? If you did, that is what's causing it. I called Jack-it and they admitted to me that this was a problem. They gave me full credit on that upper bracket. The only way they said it would stop is by going with an adjustable trac bar which would eliminate the half bolt and eccentric washers. That was straight from the horses mouth...
Rob, I will crawl under the truck this weekend and have a look, I wonder if I tighten the crud out of them if that will make any difference?
Rev, I have the adjustable track bar and I believe I re-used the original bolts that came off the truck.
Is the upper track bar bracket the one that came with your Jack-It kit?
I did a search under "clunking" front end a few minutes ago and came up with several pages of reading material, for some reason when I did this the first time it did not compute.
Thanks guys, anymore ideas keep um coming.

The front anti-sway bar(lower link) was the culprit on my truck. Just needed to be tightened. It was obvious too, I could see a little bit of clean metal where it was knocking.
Hey Spook, Yea, the bracket I have, was sold to me when I bought my kit. I didn't have the money for an adjustable bar back then. I got the sway bar links from them also.
Just a quick update, I crawled under my truck this past weekend and tightened up what I could but that didn't help. Funny thing though, it has been raining here most of the day and wouldn't you know.....no more knocking under the drivers side floor
I wonder if the rain water lubricated something, springs, sway bar ends...something? Any clues??

Hey SpOOk, these things are notorious for groans or creaks (different folks have different names for noises) from the sway bar to axel mount bushings. Grease those up good and see if it helps. I bought the greaseable ones and that fixed me up. The rain my be lubricating those just enough. Was most noticeable for me while going over speed bumps.
Rob
BTW, I think there is a TSB about some trucks having one of the sway bar ends installed backwards. When installed properly, they do not look identical, or mirrored. One is reversed when correct. The end link bangs on the frame. Might check that out. A guy named Stan Wright has a really good Ford truck page. Look him up in the user list. I could link you up if you can't find him, he has pictures of the issue if I remember right.
Thanks Rob, I will try lubing the bushings to see if that works, I have been to Stans site several times but don't recall the bushing thing but I will definitely look again.
My noise is generated when the weight of the truck shifts to one side for instance making a sharp turn and quickly returning the wheel to center will do it all the time. If I go over a speed bump straight, I hear nothing however if I go over the speed bump at an angle or while the wheels are turned I get this knocking sound.
This is one of those minuscule annoyances that tend to bug the stuffing out of you until it is fixed
