KTP tour is on!

DAVID A SINK said "Everyone needs to come to the rally.Cristie has nagged ford so much they gave in and we are having a tour on friday may 25th.Times will e posted soon."

Cristie "Mrs. Webmaster" Lestor has been working on the Official Ford-Diesel-com rally to be held Memorial Day weekend for several months. Part of her original plan as part of the rally activities was to arrange for an official Ford tour of the Kentucky Truck Plant (KTP) in Louisville, where Superduty trucks are assembled. But Ford balked because no one was scheduled to be around KTP on Memorial Day Weeekend. But Cristie has been persistent, and now it sounds like she got it done. [If you have a tough job to get done, give it to an accountant! ]

Way to go, Mrs. WebMaster!

Re: KTP tour is on!

Well, it turns out that Cristie is the boss, so she gets the credit for selecting good staff members, but Susie Regalia in Michigan was most responsible to getting the Ford folks to change their mind about the tour. Thanx, Susie!

And we now have a time for the tour - 9 a.m. on Friday morning before Memorial Day weekend. That's 0900 hours on 25 May 2001 for you Ole Army types.

In another thread, Jason said:
quote:
Looks like the tour will be at 9:00 on Friday morning. They said they can accomodate all of us at once, but we will have to arrange transportation to the plant since they don't have enough parking. Cristie will post more details soon.

Re: KTP tour is on!

David Sink asked me to let everybody know that the rally and tour at the SuperDuty plant in Louisville next month is a one-time good deal. There are no plans to do this again. So don't miss your chance to attend this year.

Note: A Ford executive told Cristie that one of the ideas they picked up at the rally in Virginia last year - the auto trans temp gauge - will be added to the 2002 model year SuperDuty trucks.

Cristie has now posted the agenda for the rally in the Events and Rallies forum.
