Filled up last weekend in Riverside, TX for $1.92, probably lower now because my favorite Shell at Rankin and I-45 in Houston was $1.96 yesterday. I'm not going to mention the D word because this is a G section.
But on that subject, Smokey "reminded" a poster that if he was asking what rear ends were in a gasser then that is off topic in the General Section. This poster did NOT mention a gasser, a followup poster did.
But over in the General Diesel section they mention the G word all the time. I'm surprized those "diesel forever owners" are still looking over their shoulder at gas prices.
OK I'm just stirring up trouble this morning.
I'm still looking forward to breaking the $2 barrier on my drive to work. My usual Exxon was at $2.019 this morning, so hopefully it won't be long. There are some stations in Austin below $2, just none near me. Still, my station is better than what my wife has to choose from in Dripping Springs - she filled up her Expedition last night for $2.199 and that was the lowest price in town (we live in Drippin' but I drive into Austin for work while the wife works locally).

I dont want to add any fuel to the fire. I am happy for you. I dont really get involved in the Gas-Diesel wars. Myself along with many others selected the diesel engine to fit our uses and needs. Sure the diesel costs more to maintain, but that is something that has to be dealt with. You on the other hand chose a gas engine because it suited your needs. Gas engines are the minority around the world compared to diesels.
P.S. If gas engines were really the way to go, I'm sure the big rigs would be using them. But THEY DONT!!!

1.89 for gas in central, IL. Its good to see these prices dropping.
[/ QUOTE ]
Where was that at? I was just down in Kansas, IL this past weekend and the cheapest I saw on the whole trip was $2.049.

On I74, just east of Peoria, in Morton. The Mobil truck stop consistently has the cheapest diesel around, and their gas is within a penny or 2 of the other places in Morton.

But you added fuel to the fire anyway huh? Good Job!
Actually there is a huge difference in a "big rig" over a pick up truck. Most pickup's don't haul 80,000# or more...safely that is. Actually most of the diesels I see around here hauling 1 person. Certainly don't need a diesel for that, but to each his own.
Don't need a truck...gas or diesel, for that...but I'll bet you see gas powered trucks running around with 1 person. I'll bet that even you have to drive alone every now and then. But to each his own...I think.
