Leveling a gas truck?

I just got another 250 4X4 and was looking to level the truck by lifting the front. What have you guys with gas trucks done to level your trucks? This truck has a 5.4 engine it is a shortbed supercab. The front is very low and I am not sure how high would make it level and also what brand product to use. Will the 5200lb diesel springs lift it enough or will I have to go with aftermarket springs? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. This gas thing is all new to me

Thanks, Gary

Re: Leveling a gas truck?

I'd try the Jackit leveling system. Most of the lift is accomplished through the thickness of the additional leaves. They claim it won't ride as harsh as an add-a-leaf. Most of the gas engine guys report getting 3" to 3 1/2" of lift. The system is only $225. Seems cheaper than the X-springs, and you don't have to guess about how much lift you'll get.

Re: Leveling a gas truck?

True what Stan said on the X spring. I thought going from 4800# springs (v-10) to 6000# springs would shoot it up...I got 1 inch on a CC LWB. Actually my truck was level I just wanted a couple inches of cheap lift.

I don't have this but I researched the Fabtech 3.5 drop bracket kit. Sells for about $350 at last check. It uses a new leaf mount bracket (the one that bolts to the frame). It also comes with 2" blocks for the rear that I guess in your case you may or may not need. Either way it'll retain the factory ride.

Seems like just because our engines are not as heavy as the PSD the springs don't give us anymore lift.

Good Luck,
Rob
