Look Here! Which Chip?

Did that get your attention? My main concern is to recalibrate my speedo, but also gain a little performance as well. I am running 35's, so which chip or programmer is best, as in which can reprogram the speedo? I looked at PP, but on the website it states that recal of the speedo in the 2000 6.8 is N/A. Any suggtestions?

Re: Look Here! Which Chip?

I have heard differing stories about using chips for speedo correction. The only thing that I have heard is to take it to the dealer and have it reprogramed or to get a Super Lift True Speed calibration module.

Re: Look Here! Which Chip?

I believe CB is right. Have the dealer do it. If you do get a chip make sure you tell them about the headers. They do some special programing to richen the mixture somewhat. Either Superchips or Diablo.

Re: Look Here! Which Chip?

Well I have a SMCT 1715 and love it... I went to Superchips and it says it works on your truck...

Note: All "Max" Micro Tuners have been designed to work on basically stock vehicles. The "Max" Micro Tuners will work with aftermarket air filter systems and cat back exhaust systems. The "Max" Micro Tuner was not designed to work with modified motors and aftermarket supercharger or turbocharger kits.

I'm not sure about your headers it doesn't say anything about them but it works great on my speedo and making my tranny shift firmer.

Re: Look Here! Which Chip?

Get the dealer to do it or use a TruSpeed. AFAIK, no chip can currently do this, nor can the Microtuner on the V10. Works fine with speedo calibration on the other engines though. This is why the Microtuner says not all options are available with all applications. Contact us if you want more info.
