MBRP S5208409 Dual Split Side Installation
For those of you thinking about installing this system, I have a few comments.
The truck is a 2002 F250 CC V10 4x4.
The quality of the product is very good and I do like the unique sound (the truck can be heard!)
1. My truck had a heat shield around the factory muffler that needed a large section cut out, for the over axle pipe to fit. This was not noted in the installation instructions. It took a while to figure this out.
2. The passenger side factory hanger and corresponding driver side hangers were not long enough, causing the tailpipes to be in contact with the body. I had to fabricate 2 drop-down brackets. Also, the drivers side hanger seems like it should be welded or bent differently.
3. The pipes do come very close to the factory 265/75/16 spare tire. Some heat shielding wouldn't be a bad idea.
4. Regarding the intermediate pipe, I have seen other manufactures mark (using tape or paint) where to cut for each different wheelbase vehicle. The directions indicate loosely hanging the muffler in the t-bracket, to measure the pipe. This hanger is actually clamped to the ds tailpipe, so you would actually be allowing the intermediate pipe to be too long.
5. I did the install myself and WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND HAVING AN ASSISTANT!
I would definitely recommend MBRP.
