Muffler

Ok guys, I have true duals with SuperTurbo's. They are starting to burn out and I want to quiet it down with some new mufflers(you know how that V-10 sounds) Any suggestions as to what will quiet it down with out restricting air flow? thanks-

Re: Muffler

As they are relatively cheap, I'd go with another set of Super Turbos.

Re: Muffler

That is a tough question. I've always thought that the Super Turbos were prolly the quietest mufflers out there. Maybe get a longer version? www.a-1performance.com lists a few that have 20" cases. Most of the other brands mufflers are free flowing and prolly as loud as the Dynomax. Maybe a Flowmaster 70 would be quieter.

Re: Muffler

Like V10man says, the FM70 would be a softer note. But they are pricey vs a Super Turbo. FlowMaster also has a "delta-flow" option to quiet things further.

Re: Muffler

WhiteSuperduty,

Where are you located in MN? I live in Prior Lake. I have a 2001 V10 and I put a Flowmaster 50 Truck series on it(Single in/dual out). I am very happy with this setup. It is not and will never be a V8, but it has a nice rumble at lower speeds and idle. It wakes up when you step on it, but not obnoxious. If you are close, you can come and check it out.

Re: Muffler

I live up in Northern MN, 60 miles north of Duluth. A little place called Eveleth, little compared to you big city boys . How much for that muffler, and where would i order from? thanks

Re: Muffler

WHITESUPERDUTY,
I would recommend going with a 5 chamber flowmaster. It will definetly increase your horsepower (due to better flow) and has a great sound. Now they are quite expensive, but from my experience with them I think they are worth the extra cost. Another alternative would be to check out Borla! Great sound, More Power, and Long lasting.

Re: Muffler

Whitesuperduty,

I am originally from Chisholm and now have a cabin at Side Lake. I will be heading back there on May 11 - 13. I could swing through Eveleth on the way up or way back if you would like? Contact me offline
