my first month report of my V10 F250

I've had the truck for a month now. I'm liking it more each day. My fuel mileage driving it back and forth to work is right at 14.3mpg. My trip is 20 miles each was with 15 miles of country road and rural highway and the remainder in town.
This engine sure has a ton of power. I haven't pulled much with it yet, just a 12' lawn mower trailer. But, just driving it around it doesn't take much of the pedal to make this thing move. I've been trying to drive it easy most of the time to get the best mpg but it's still fun to drive.
Being a 2wd longbed extended it sure does ride nice and smooth.

Things I still need to fix:
-power door locks don't work very well
-replace the tailgate as it's dented pretty good
-front rotors are warped a little bit so new rotors or machine the ones i have
-upgrade the tires, previous owner has P rated tires, i think i need to replace those with LT 10 plys.
-2008 airdam under bumper. mine doesn't have one at all, thought this might help highway mpg as it does for the 08's

Being a 2000 V-10, you can inhance the mileage and power with a new "Y" pipe, Air Raid intake system, exhaust upgrade and a Diablo Sport Predator programmer. If you do that, you'll be upping the HP by a bunch and also up the mileage if you can keep your foot off the WOT.....and you will blow the doors off of some stock diesels.

Your rotors are probably not warped. Most likely you just have uneven brake pad deposits.

Try bedding your pads properly. Chances are the wobble will go away.

Should I clean off the rotors and pads before bedding them ?

...or hot spots on the rotors. My '99 front rotors had to be replaced at 50K or so because of what I believe to be a bad heat treat.

So the y pipe modification can't be performed on a 99 V10? Just curious as its one of the things on my to-do list.

The way I read these sites, from 1999-2004 will reap the benefits from a after market Y pipe. Cost varies depending on the vendor and installation. Plus an after market exhaust is supposed to help as well. Throw in an intake system and programmer, and you have a "runner".

It worked. I went out and did a bedding process. But, instead of doing the eight hard stops I just did four. It must have cleaned things up and the brakes work perfectly now.
thanks

I gots to jump on that. Sorry for the thread jack. I've already got an intake and a shorty exhaust up to a flowmaster that for some reason doesn't make the V10 sound like complete sh*t. It sounds stock with a deeper tone.
