New Guy....5.4L info needed plz...--->

Two days ago I became the proud owner of a Black '99 F350 SD 5.4L Reg. Cab

It is used with some decent mileage. I am having just a few problems with it....

1) The 'Door Ajar' light is ALWAYS on.
2) The Dome light (when I put the fuse in it) comes on every time I come to a stop and as soon as I resume driving it turns itself off

Besides that ....I love this damn thang!
Should tow around my Mustang pretty well.
What are the minor Mods to do to get better performance out of the Engine,Tranny,suspension?
It is stock as it sits.

Congrats on the new used truck.
It sounds like maybe both of your problems could be related..
Could the problem be the little sensor that detects the door is shut or the wire that runs to it? This would affect both the door ajar and the dome light.. (the truck still thinks the door is open).

YAh ......I thought of that an attempted to hunt for it ...but they have merged the switch into the door latch or something.

No little button poking out to press in ???

Oh ....I for got another problem (brain ded lol)
3) The gas guage when started(engine) goes ALL the way past Full....and STAYS there regardless of the amount. Then sometimes it will flucuate and read different ...but for the most part it just stays past 'F'
