Anybody notice the new "forum rules" that allow us to ask non-engine questions in other forums? Maybe we really do own Super Duty trucks!
Let's be sure to not abuse this new-found freedom. Keep all the ENGINE questions & posts in this forum- PLEASE! We don't want our "rights" revoked again.
WooHoo! I was lurking about today and read that and thought "hey that wasn't there before" Now I can post without fear. Been lurking for a few months now and finally reg'd so hopefully I can help out when I can. I have learned quite a bit already, thanks to everyone. A big thanks to the site admin.

I've been posting in the other forums since I joined up back in December. Never had any problems with it. As long as you don't talk about your gas engine in a diesel forums, nobody cares. The trucks are the same regardless of the engine.

Well, would you look at that. I always thought it was pretty stupid how even if you were asking about your headlights, if you mentioned you had a gas engine you were automatically thrown over here. I never really had a problem though because I just made sure not to mention it.
I don't believe this is a new rule. I've been monitoring and posting non engine questions and opinions in the Powerstroke Excursions forum since last May. As long as you don't mention your gas engine, probably even in your signature, the forums are fair game.

The biggest issue was that new members didn't know the "unspoken" rule of engine secrecy and were quickly thrashed by the members & their posts subsequently moved by the moderators. I'm sure this un-welcome wagon has caused more than one person to leave after their first post.
Personally, I view this new OPEN acceptance of fuel type as a major step.
I always posted my sig with my questions(in forums other than gas) and none of them ever got moved. My questions were for common items between all engine choices. Never heard a word from anyone except maybe a little playfull bantering.
