New truck pics... and what are thes wires for??

I got a new truck saturday before last (see sig for details). I love it! It is so much better to drive than my '95 Wrangler. My wife even calls it a luxury car. I am really pleased with the V10. It has plenty of power and is really smooth and quiet. I mainly bought the truck for towing my jeep (flat towing) to cali and utah for 4 wheeling and I can't wait to see how it does. Future mods include a valve and spring kit for the tranny to firm up the shifts, a spray in liner, and a roll up tonneau. Now for a few questions...

1) What are the stray wires for under the hood near the brake booster? (see pics)

2) Anyone figure out what the cause of the crew cab clunk is (when turning at an angle into a sloped driveway)? Any way to fix it?

Here is where the pics are located:

Re: New truck pics... and what are thes wires for??

On my 2000, the extra wires were just that, an extra 5 wires running through the fire wall to hook up accessories. As for the clunk, it's likely your cab mounts. My CC did the same thing and the dealer tightened them (and maybe replaced, I'm not sure) under warranty.

BTW, welcome to the site if you're new. I hadn't noticed your sig before. That's one pretty truck. You'll love the V-10.

Re: New truck pics... and what are thes wires for??

If you look at the Ford 6 wire brake controller connector under the center of the dash you will see the same five wires (one position of the connector is empty). My '03 F250 5.4L has the same 'weird' wires inside the cab up near the firewall behind the fuse panel.

I assume they are just an alternate connection for a trailer brake controller, but I don't know for sure. Seems strange to have them in the engine compartment though.

Those wires are there for add on items. The other ends can be found by removing the panel cover below the steering column. The wires should be on the far right of the opening. These come in handy when adding gauges and such.
