Noise from Engine

My 00 F-250 CC, V10, 4X4 is making kinda woshing noise from the engine area upon accleration or heavy load. It's intermitent and seems to happen mostly in the morning. The dealer has looked at it a couple of times but hasn't been able to explain it.

No, I can hear the fun clutch it a diffrent sound. It sounds more like a large air leak from a turning tire. But only repetes a couple of times each time it happens. BTW, the tires do stay aired up so it's not a leak there.

Re: Noise from Engine

I've noticed a whooshing sound while the auto trany shifts under brisk acceleration, but no other sounds. Is this what you're hearing?

Maybe, but it realy sounds like it coming from the front left side of the engine most of the time. I have heard it 2 or 3 times that it sounded like it come from the center front and also felt a small drop in power when it happened.
I noticed today that it seems to happen around 2000 rpm.
