oil change time

i changed my oil in my 250 last night. for the last ten years or so i have taken my vehicles to the quick lube places, just cause its easier... and i dont have to get rid of the oil myself. but since the truck does have plenty of clearance under it i decided to do it myself. i have never used synthetics before and was undecided on to use it this time or not, but i decided to go ahead and go with mobil 1 fully syn. and a mobil 1 filter. truck only has 3,300 miles on it, but i changed it anyway. so how long until the next oil change is needed? and i should prob. replace the filter also, right? and by the way, it wasnt what ford said to use, it was 5/30.. any prob. with that?

Re: oil change time

I change mine every 5,000 miles with Mobil 1 oil and filter. I've got a 2000, which calls for 5W-30. Your 2001 calls 5W-20, but it's my personal belief that it doesn't really make much difference.
