Re: OXYGEN SENSOR part #? and when should I replace???
If I were to replace them, I'd change all of them out at the same time.
Why do you think you need to replace them? Is the EEC giving you a trouble code? Unless you're experiencing poor fuel mileage; or the exhaust smells like a rotten egg due to an overly-rich condition, I would investigate the replacement of them, but I certainly wouldn't replace them as a preventative maintenence action.
The use of leaded gas will kill them, but I hazard a guess you haven't brought it back from overseas.

Re: OXYGEN SENSOR part #? and when should I replace???
Twinbulls- I checked both my owners manual and Chilton repair manual and could not find any info on recommended replacement intervals. I do think I will be changing mine around 100,000 miles as maintenance with the spark plugs. I have another 60,000 to go yet. I thougt they were a recommended replacement item, but it doesn't look like it.
HeavyAssault- I hope they are that cheap, but these are HO2S's (Heated Oxygen Sensor), have you priced these specifically, or remembering from back when/other vehicles? I remember my auto store/gas station days and recall them to be more like $100. Got my fingers crossed..
Stan- the egg smell and dash light bula notes are symptoms, and they can also be tested. I could post info if need be, or check a repair manual. Pretty straightforward.
bulabulaF350- the same as the gas kills your sensors a rich condition (from a bad sensor) kills the catalytic converter, and I know those ain't cheap. I think also coming smog tests (for us under the boot of the governor here in California) will include an oxygen sensor test. Right now a vehicle with that check engine light on fails automatically.
Re: OXYGEN SENSOR part #? and when should I replace???
Thanks all,for the info:
Well truck has 91k miles and MPGs seem down by 1.3
NO codes or check eng. light.
Just a thought I had that maybe its time ??
I will be swapping the plugs at 100k miles and maybe what ever else it needs to keep runing STRONG..

Re: OXYGEN SENSOR part #? and when should I replace???
The oxygen sensors are something like $85 for one side and $90 for the other from the dealer. I might add that it would be worthwhile to compare dealer prices against one another. I saved some $$$ by doing that. Changed mine at 70,000 miles. One of them had failed, so I replaced both and kept the one that was still OK as a spare. That is just my goofy way of doing things.
I personally wouldn't be comfortable purchasing them anywhere but from the dealer. I like the idea of OEM when it comes to sensors.
BTW, I am new to this board and I have to say I am impressed with the knowledge base! Looks like everyone can have their questions or problems adressed confidently. I LIKE IT!!!!!!!

99F350V10,
WELCOME to the best d**n site on the net (IMHO of course)! The only thing I've found wrong with TDS.com is that it has cost me alot of money and time trying to do all the upgrades and mods while staying current on this site.
Re: OXYGEN SENSOR part #? and when should I replace???
First welcome to the site!! Second, I agree with Robb about trying to keep up. You are not going to know what to do first. Plus the list just grows and grows.
As far as the O2 sensor, BOSCH is a very respected name in the auto world. Saving a few bucks isn't going to hurt, just check your parts store return/warranty policy.

Re: OXYGEN SENSOR part #? and when should I replace???
I drive a Chevy, a 98 in fact and the computer on it is smart enough to sense any little glitch in the induction/ignition/exhaust system. I kept getting a chack engine light that pulled a "catalyst below peak efficiency" code every time. Not knowing what this meant (thinking aa bad O2 sensor) I changed the plugs, cap, and rotor since I planned on doing them anyway. With finals and work I didn't have time to do the O2 sensors and probably don't need to. After replacing the ignition parts the check engine light disappeared halfway from school to work. Hasn't been back on since. Chevy mechanic at dealership said that code is from a rich fuel ratio or incomplete combustion and the O2 sensors were fine. He said I will get a light and code when they go kaput. The ting will even tell me which one is shot (upstream or downstream) or even if the heater element in either is just bad (will trip a light at cold start but will clear when they warm up to operating temp). Technology is great, kinda a pain in the rear at times but can provide a wealth of info if you have someone who can pull codes. Your truck is newer and a little more modern engine design so I'm sure it will do the same.

Re: OXYGEN SENSOR part #? and when should I replace???
I know I am comparing apples to oranges here, I have a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 ,360 gas. 80,000 miles. A while ago I started getting bad gas mileage, around 9.7 combined. No check engine light, I took it to the dealer, he replaced the 02 sensor, it only has one. The fuel mileage went up a lot! I haven't got around to checking it since it was fixed.
The mechanic told me it was a slow acting sensor. I didn't believe him, thought I was ripped off, until I drove it for a while, then noticed mpg was up, can't argue with that. I am probably back to my whopping 12.5 mpg around town driving.
