Power Programmer III V-10 application found!!!!

I called Hypertech today and got a part number for V-10s!!! Seems as not too many dealers have this number but I called three times thinking they gave me some wrong info. Part number 41003 was quoted to me by Hypertech. Their number is 901-382-8888.

What would be the difference between that and a chip? what gives better results?

Re: Power Programmer III V-10 application found!!!!

Biggest difference is you can change your speedo for different tire sizes; top speed limiter can be removed; changes shift points on auto tranny; recals fuel and spark curves; and then you can restore the factory settings if you want to go back. You don't install a chip; You just plug it in, change your settings and unplug.

Re: Power Programmer III V-10 application found!!!!

Sounds like just what I am looking for. It really cheeses me off when I'm passing and Ford's computer starts cutting out cylinders to remind me to slow down.

Do you know if the programmer allows the continued use of 87 octane fuel, assuming just the speed limiter and shift points are modified?

From what the tech told me you can change between 87 or 93 octane gas. I was quoted $315 from Desert Rat Off-Road.

Re: Power Programmer III V-10 application found!!!!

Just so you know, looking at the Hypertech website, part#41003 is for the 1999 V-10, and from what I remember I think they said the 2000-2001 is different. I could be wrong though on that.
I'm gonna give them a call tomorrow.

Re: Power Programmer III V-10 application found!!!!

Just talked to tech support at Hypertech, and they dont have an ETA on the PPIII for the 2000+ V-10's. Could be one month, or it could be 8 months. Also another note, he's said that up to this point they havent been able to have it change the tire size on the Ford, and that was my man reason for wanting it. If they do get it to alter the tire size he said it will only adjust up to about 34".

I dont think I'm gonna wait for this any longer.

Re: Power Programmer III V-10 application found!!!!

I received this reply to my inquiry on a programmer for the 2000-2001 V10:

Thank you for your interest in Hypertech. We are sorry to inform you
that at this time, we do not offer any products for your vehicle. When
something becomes available, it will be posted to the web site. If you need
further assistance, please call our Sales/Technical Department at
(901)382-8888.
Thanks,
Sales
Hypertech, Inc. http://www.hypertech-inc.com/

'nuff said. Everything else is speculation or umm... marketing.
