i have a 2000 sd with the v-10 auto, and my dad has a 1999 with that same. i noticed that when you accelerate in the 99', it pulls through the gears, as opposed to my 00' which almost seems like it cuts out between gears, as if the ignition is retarded between gears or something like that. can anyone shed some light on this for me, and is it possible to eliminate this? i like that fact that the 99' pulls harder.
Yes, ford has put in a fuel and timing retard 400rpm's before,through,and 400rpm's after the shift. You will not only feel the differance, but you can hear it real good with adding headers.This is something ford did to help the tranny out for longer life. A chip can remove this and bring back alot of lost power and git rid of that sluggish shift.
