Power Steering Noise/Problem?

O.K. Guys,

I hear my power steering when turning/driving at low speeds (like thru a parking lot or out of my driveway). Do you guys hear it also? Should I hear it at all? Should it be fixed? I feel that I should not hear it at all and it should not be acceptable. Please share your thoughts and experience? Thanks!

Re: Power Steering Noise/Problem?

I had this problem also......just add some Lucas Power Steering additive and the noise will be gone......I was skeptical at first , too.

Re: Power Steering Noise/Problem?

Hmmm, thanks for the reply and I truly appreciate your response. However, I am a bit skeptical about just adding fluids to my truck. Can anyone else vouch for our friend with the good advise? Thanks.

Re: Power Steering Noise/Problem?

I have read more than once, that F*rd power steering is unusually loud when compared to other makes. I brought my wifes Mustang in for service because the PS was loud and they agreed. They replaced the pump. When I picked it up, it sounded just as loud to me. After I got it home, it does seem a little quieter but still loud and it's quite a bit louder than my Super Duty.
If I listen for it, I can hear my trucks PS pump but it's not overly obnoxious
