I am looking through the classifieds trying to find a new/used V10 truck. It seems that the majority of the used trucks both on dealer lots and private sales seem to be powerstrokes.
Does anyone know what the build numbers are? Also it seems that there are very few V8’s for sale (understandably).
It would be interesting to see the numbers. On the road I see alot more PSD's than 5.4L or V10's as well.. So it would make sense that more PSD's show up used..
I read somewhere that about 80% of the Superduty trucks are equipped with the Powerstoke diesel.

Used superduties/heavyduties? Ha! I have been looking for either the 460 or PSD in decent condition around where I live and let me tell you, they are scarce! People buy these trucks for a reason and hang on to them. They are a darn good truck so I understand why they keep 'em. Best of luck finding what you are searching for. But to answer the original question about ratio, I too see many more PSD trucks on the road than I do the gassers. There are a lot of HD/SD trucks in my area, and although I do see (very few) 460s, more V10s, the bulk seem to have that oh so distinctive diesel sound...

Why doesn't ford just tag the $600 on the base price and make the V10 standard?
As far as I can see there are two reasons why folks hang onto these trucks:
1) they cost alot so 5 and 6 yr loans and less trade in value
2) they cost alot so you have to hang onto the beast for a long time to get your $ per year down to something reasonable
