Rearend gears????

I've been searching all posts trying to find an answer but not having much luck so I thought I would try here. A buddy of mine is buying a 2000 SD with the V10 was trying to find out what rear end gears it has. I thought there was an easy place to find out this info but couldn't find nothing on the door or in the glove box. I knew that somebody here would know where to look. Thanks!!!!!

Re: Rearend gears????

Should be a tag on the rear diff.

I have one of my front axle. Check on his, if equipped.

Re: Rearend gears????

There are only two OEM ratios available on the V10-equipped F-250/350: the standard 3.73, and the optional 4.30.

At 60 MPH in 4th (OD) w/ the TC locked, the 3.73 gears should show ~1700-1800 RPM, and the 4.30 gears should show ~2000-2100 RPM.

HTH,
crewzer
