Re: reset computer best way ??

I was told 5-10 mins. Not too sure about a fuse, I think the computer has an alternate wire feed to prevent loss of data.

How do you like the POWERAID?? How about the install??

Overall comments?

Re: reset computer best way ??

Disconnect the battery and turn the headlights on. Wait about 15 minutes. Turn the headlights off and reconnect the battery.

Re: reset computer best way ??

Poweraid spacer install easy 30 min..It has a whining noise when you open up the throttle, sounds ok throttle response MUCH better feels like it added a power band or brought it out more!! I installed the K&N FIPK at the same time so between them I am happy !
Next is headers and the exhaust then hypertec
I saw a spacer on e-bay 40$ cant beat it

Re: reset computer best way ??

NoMo,

Just disconnecting the battery won't do the trick? I am curious what turning the lights on after the battery is disconnected does.

Thanks,

Re: reset computer best way ??

Residual voltage (due to circuit capacitance) tends to be sufficient to keep the PCM "powered" for quite a while. Turning on the headlights helps to drain this residual voltage pretty quickly.

At least that's the best theory I've got.

Re: reset computer best way ??

Remove both cables from the battery and touch them together, wait 30 minutes before re-installing the cables to the battery, this resets the computer,

Re: reset computer best way ??

I reset mine by just disconnecting the battery for about 15 min. I had a trouble code show up when I forgot to hook up the wire from the filter - throttle body duct when putting on the headers. The short disconnect cleared the code and computer.
