restricted steering when brakes applied

The harder I push the brake pedal, the harder it is to turn the steering wheel. Anybody else have this problem? Know of a fix?

Re: restricted steering when brakes applied

I have noticed on my new 350 that it gets hrd to turn sometimes when trying to manuever into tight spots that require lots of wheel movement.Feels like the p/s belt is slipping.Only 500 miles, hope it's not a big problem.Other than that, the truck is great.

Same here, I thought it might be my tire/rim combo(33's on 12" rims). Doesn't sound like it.

Re: restricted steering when brakes applied

I know that the PSDs are having this problem real bad. Dad has one and when in gear and trying to turn when barely moving you can't move the steering wheel, because there is not enough RPMs to work both of them. Have heard that it is due to the brakes and steering using the same vaccum line. Ford said that they would rather you be able to bake then steer.
