Smoked 5.4?

My employer owns an F150 with the 5.4 gasser. I think it's an '04. He said at 60K some fuel injectors malfunctioned, and filled the cylinders with gas. The rest of the story is obvious. Has anyone else had this happen, or is this an isolated incident?

I have seen a couple here that the injectors stick open and flood the cylinders. The problem was with the new 3 valve engines and the injector design. Most of them here the customers noticed a miss/running rough and brought it in, but there were a few engines replaced due to bent rods.
