Spring information?

I recently purchased a 2001 SC SD XLT 4x4 3/4 ton (250)with the 5.4l motor. It came with the plow package and an 8' Fisher plow. I have heard mention in this forum about people installing leveling kits and different springs to raise the front ends. Since it obviously doesn't need it, does mine have this type of kit from the factory? What are the springs that I have? Are they F550 front springs?

Also, I don't hear anything at all from this group about owners of the baby SD engine. What is it's service and reliability record like? It seems to do a fine job on the highway and at work when plowing. All in all I am enjoying the truck and look forward to lots of good service.

This is a great forum and I look forward to any responses.

Re: Spring information?

Look on the drivers side door jam for the codes. Look for 2 letters under the spring heading (I think). It might be something like UW or XW or something. I can't look at mine now.

Re: Spring information?

If you have the plow package then you have the F550 X springs.
