Steeltex Recall - Diesel Forum

I've got 27,000 miles on my Steeltex and they are
looking scary. Lots of cracks in the sidewalls.
Anyone had one of these fail?

Run a search on steeltex and you will find a lot of people w/ problems.

I haven't heard of any recalls on them also. But, I do know that when my set cracked on D/rear. Right in the center, where a mold joint would be. They had some where between 22 to 25,000 mi. I went the Fire Stone dealer. And they wouldn't do any thing about it, as well as Ford. So, I switch to BFG mud tires, and tossed them in the shed.... Awaiting any recall......

I have 59,085 on my SteelTex AT's, and the look fine.

I got over 50,000 on my R4S with no problems so I went out and bought 3 new ones, I used the spare for a 4 new one and put one of the used ones on as spare.

They were much cheaper also then similiar ones.
