Re: Straight Pipes

I did it and I like it... I tryed it a few years a go. It was just for a week or two but its been 3 years...
It does get real loud and sorta sounds like a indy car when WOT... It does have a rap to it..
At low rmp it sounds real nice with a great rumble but as it gets going it gets LOUD!!!
I feel it added to the performance a little and MPGs went up 2/10 mpg

Re: Straight Pipes

I believe you will be very unhappy with a straight pipe. The 72 degree firing impulses of the V-10 need some type of sound cancelation to have a decent exhaust tone. I have a straight thru-type muffler on mine, and would not do the same again. If you want loud get a FlowMaster 40, then you'll have a good tone and volume of sound. The resonance at about 55-65 is horrendous, it will drive you clean out of the cab unless you have 8,000 watts of stereo.
