I have the V-10 and the SuperChip. My mileage gains are miniscule, if any. It does make the truck drive and shift better. Would I do it again? Probably. The two negatives are that the chips are expensive, and so is premium fuel.
If you get a SuperChip I'd HIGHLY recommend also getting a free flowing-intake and exhaust. The intake/chip/exhaust combination really brings the motor to life.
I haven't installed a chip in my truck but am strongly considering it. There is a lot of good information at www.f150online.com in the computer chips section. You can talk to Mike Troyer there. He is a distributor of Superchips and has been able to answer a lot of my questions. Hope this helps. If you get one, let me know if it helps. I was mostly considering it for the improved gas mileage, but have since learned that it doesn't really help your mileage that much. It's more for the extra HP and torgue than anything else (and improved shifting from what I've heard).

I have had a Superchip in my 00 V10, auto for just about a year now. I cannot notice a milege advantage, but the shifting of the transmission is alot better. I also have a Superchip for my Lightning and the gain in that was very noticable. I would buy one again for any truck with a automatic trans, if I had a manual trans, it would be a more difficult decision.

I had a Superchip in my 99 V10 5spd, and I now have a chip in my 2000 V10 5spd. My mileage on the 99 went up by a whopping 1 mpg, and the 2000 I have only had the chip in it for a week, so I haven't had a chance to check the mileage...the power is definitely noticeable as well. I think what they advertise is fair for a power improvement...
I would definitely do it again...actually, I did do it again...heh.

I guess I should have said, I asked for the max performance possible on 92 pump gas. I'm not getting any pinging with 89 mid grade.
My disappiontment,is that It's not the max power that can be had. Also there is still a timing and fuel cut off between shift pionts, which I asked to be removed.
I have not tested to see if the speed limiter was removed?
Bottom line: I asked for a custom type chip and did not get it.
Side note: I'm testing gas mileage with it and it looks like it's up 1.5-2 miles per gallon? Was 9.5-10 in town, with chip 11.5-12.5. So did I get a performance chip or something else?
