Sway bar (long) but help full...

So.....

I 'HAD' what felt like something knocking the floor pan or nearby area which could be felt with foot(feet).

I replaced the ball joints previously along with shocks, stabilizer,& packed wheel bearings......But to no avail I still had the knocking floor pan along with the "common Squeaks" everyone talks about

Today I flushed the brakes, put on some new fangled Ceramic pads, and proceeded to lay under truck and look ......And look ...and loooook.

Realizing NOTHING is knocking or hitting the floor pan I realize the sway bar bushings are not only DESTROYED but the links the connect to frame are basically 'walking themselves off the bushings and ultimately the BOLTS holding them

Oh....And one link is mounted backwards 'misaligning it'.....

To make a long story bearable .......I ended up removing the links, removing the STOCK bushings from them (which were destroyed) and replacing them with some "Energy Suspension" bushings I had lying around from my old Toyota4x4(leaf spring bushings).

I lubed them with synthetic wheel bearing grease and cranked them on

Yes,I did turn the Pass. side link (the backwards one) around

GOOD NEWS!!! NO more Clunk, bang, knock ........Whatever you want to call it and it is SILENT

Sorry so long,

Jon

Re: Sway bar (long) but help full...

I had to custom make my sway bar bushings. I used urethane sway bar links bushings. (common type) and drilled out the centers. I then put them on the factory link studs.
I could not get the factory replacements in the links with a 20T press.

You could just take off the swaybar altogether
