Re: Thinking of buying a 2004 5.4
[ QUOTE ]
Hi all, right now I have a 93 non turbo diesel and was looking at a 2004 F250 Supercab XLT 4x4 with the 5.4. It has 70,000 miles and I can get a steal on it. My question is how are they? Anybody have any ideas as to the MPG they get? Also, how are they for towing. I normally stay under 10,000 lbs. Any info would be appreciated.

Really depends on the rear end ratio. If it is a 4:10 or lower (4:30), then it will do pretty good. If it is a 3:73 or higher, forget it. Also, check the history on it. Any dealer can run it with the vin number and that will tell you if any dealer did any warranty or any other work on it. My wife has a 5.4 and we bought a Superchip for it and it runs as good as a V-10.
