Does anyone know how to increase the speed limiter or remove it alltogether without having to buy a chip that does it. The only real reason i am considering Diablo or Superchip over Banks Ottomind is that they remove the speed limiter. But I would really like to stay 100% with Banks as I have found everything to be top notch so far.

Sorry, but why would you want to go faster than 90 mph in a 7000# truck? Ive done 80 and thought that was too fast. These trucks should not be driven that fast for a reason, YOU ARE GOING TO KILL SOMEBODY!!!
djr17 is right about the speed... these trucks were not built for it.... but, lets not go into another war over this.... it has happened before.
i think the only way is with one of the two chips you mentioned. they have lots of other benefits like firmer shift points.... so i think this is where you should go.
please be careful!

Thanks, for your reply. One of the big pluses, I think, is that with the Ottomind you can still run 87 octane gas, which is what I run now without any problem.

true regarding the gas.... i think diablo is coming out with a new chip soon called the delta... it is from what i am understanding a flip type chip... so you could have a performace program and a regular one so you could go back and forth and use either type of gas depending on the driving you'll be doing.... so you could see some of the benefits without the premimum gas.
this is my understanding of it... don't bet on my info since i have just heard a few rumors and am not really sure.

Be careful, The Drive Shaft speed limit is one of the reason's for the speed limit set where it is. If you plan on running over 100 MPH, you will need to have a new high speed drive shaft installed to prevent the stock unit from potentially flying apart.
Plus the fact that, most likely, you're not running tires that are rated for continuous operation at such high speeds. I agree completely with the member who said you're going to kill someone by regularly exceeding the speed limit and going faster then our rigs are governed act. Whether that person who dies is yourself, someone else, or God forbid a member of my family, you are putting human life in jeopardy by driving that fast.
You're right about the tires. You'll have a hard time finding speed rated tires that have 3000 pounds + load capacity. I think our stock tires are rated up to 100 mph.

Hey I got an idea, maybe someone on this board will by you the speed rated tires and chip in exchange for you allowing them to take out a term life policy naming them as beneficiary
Someone has posted that the stock tires are rated for 100mph. I think tire ratings are based on a 10 minute period at max load, what more do you need?
Honestly I like to have fun as much or more than the next guy, but you've got the recipe for disaster brewing

Although I don't neccessarily want to drive my rig past 100MPH, (For the already mentioned safety reasons...) It would be interesting from a technical standpoint to know roughly how fast this truck could go on flat open highway with no-one around. Speaking of limits, I wonder what the engine's redline is....mine doesn't show any indication of a redline on the tach....
