Truck died. 5x retry no start. 6th worked

Man, pulled away from the curb and the truck just died. It did not want to restart. The first try I gave it no gas. The engine turned over but not even a hint of firing. Same thing on 2nd-3rd tries. On the 4th try I gave it some gas. No help. On the 5th try I gave it even more gas. Absolute 0. After each try I let it sit 30 seconds. On the 6th try it fired as usual and ran just fine. It has been idling kind of rough in the mornings. It has died a few times before during the life of the truck while backing out after starting up but it was always easy to restart.

No codes were thrown. What do you all think ? IAC maybe ? Maybe I loosened some crap up with the SeaFoam treatment it got this weekend and it just had to work its way through the system ? Odd part is it did not even come CLOSE to firing. It has always been very easy to start.

Thanks for your help

ACK, Seafoam...

Sounds like a fuel pump, actually.

Or the relay for it.

If it happens again, tap the gas tank with a 2x4 and see if it starts right up.

Or check the fuel rail pressure.

Hard to say with things like this, until the problem doesn't go away at all and you have a chance to diagnose it.

LOL on Seafoam. Yeah, pucker factor was high having the engine inhale that stuff. If it wasn't for hypertech's suggestion I don't think I could have brought myself to do it. It felt ALL wrong But, I must say, either the foam, or the trips to the upper rpm range right after took care of any trace of ping (without the hypertech pogramming that is).

Fuel pump/relay ... yikes. I'm still hoping the truck just had a furball. Thinking positive for my wallet's sake.

Thanks again for your help!

P.S. Programmer III is still sitting on the counter. I look at its box, its box looks back at me ... should I send it back or try again with different gas ... I'll let you know
