I'm still considering v10 vs psd. Ive never driven a v10. Ill be getting a 6spd either way. I live at a high altitude where most normally aspirated rigs tend to bog down. Anyways, TT mag listed the v10 torque (dyno) at almost 100ft/lbs less than the gm and dodge gassers. Whats the real story?

Pride has to count for something..
AND a clarification for your post, you can not get a V10 PSD, you either get a V10 gasser OR you get a PSD...unless you take the engine to a machine shop and do some major modifications (like adding two more cylinders) you have to settle for the V8 PSD..
I know it was an oversight on your part...and I don't mean to be flaming you...
let the hate mail fly...
It also said that the V10 is 444 cubic inches.So is it a typo or the guy doesn't know his a$$ from a hole in the ground?Being the smallest engine of the bunch it did a heck of a job.Its got the most power of any of the trucks I've owned or driven.
Didn't mean to piss anyone off. Sounds like you guys are pretty impressed with the power of these V10's. Come to think of it, numbers really don't mean sh*t so I'll just have to borrow one, load her up and see how it feels at 10,000 feet and that will be the end of it. Thanks.

No flame intended, I just read the article last week and the editors didn't seem at all impressed with the Dodge, and were leery of the GM. Considering the source (MT bow-tie boot lickers) that seems high praise indeed.
BTW: My base elevation is 6000 ft.
I run my V10 over the passes on this side of the rockies (10-12000 ft.) and the motor has no problem with the truck empty. Pulling 5000 lbs. I run 55 mph @ 3200 rpm in second.
Fuel 'economy' drops into the 9-10 mpg range at that point, though.
Do drive a V10 before purchasing though, and on the same day you should drive a PSD over the same route. Good luck with whatever you choose.
