Just got my truck back from the dealer... This is the second time some little critter chewed a bunch of wires. Other than mothballs, does anyone know of something that can be put in the engine compartment to keep the mice out yet not also keep me out of the cab?
You could always get a couple of THESE they are garanteed to keep the mice away but then it might just keep the owner and dealer away also.
Jim
My truck is in the shop right now for squirrel chewed wires. I stopped it from comming back with dryer sheets. They would have to be replaced frequently. I can't use mothballs because of my dog. I am also going to mix up some pepper spray and spray the new wires. Just going to mix some hot sauce and cheyenne pepper with water. The bill is already over $400, but maybe my insurance will cover some of it.

I'll give the dryer sheets a try. FYI - One other tidbit I just learned about dryer sheets is that they leave an invisable coating on the lint trap that lessens the flow of air making it take longer to dry the cloths. The solution is to wash the lint trap every once in a while with warm soapy water. My wife tested it this morning... she said the water just pooled and wouldn't pass through - after washing it though the water flowed like one would think it should. Your gonna LOL ! I saw a man releasing squires from trap . He is a retired exterminator. I said I just released them by his house and to take them back . He chuckled . So we started yaking, and he told me a well known secret to get rats outta attic(can't remeber if he said squirels) was they would take a soda bottle up in attic and piss in it and spread/sprinkle it around .Clients didn't know and for some reason rodents would leave and not return. I will try it in attic but pissing on you vehicle leaves me with a funny picture in my mind . Kinda like those decals on back of windows of the little brat whizzing on other brand names . HA ha ha maybe the kid is an exterminator ! Thanks for the dryer tip . will wash sreen now.
I wander if plastic insulation is made from a blend of recycled food containers. (scarey thought eh ?)
