V-10 performance and mileage upgrades

My nephew has a 2000 X with the V10, I don't know anything about the V10. What can be done?

Thanks, Cary

Re: V-10 performance and mileage upgrades

I know that after we did the air box and exhaust, the MPG on my 5.4l went up a little. 13-14 around town. 15-16 at best hwy. After putting larger pulley's the best I can get is 12-13 around town. 14-15 on the highway,if that.

Re: V-10 performance and mileage upgrades

Banks makes a great intake/exhaust system. You can piece together a system from other companys too.

No problem just want to know what can be done...just like the heading asked. If it was a 7.3 I'd know what to do

Re: V-10 performance and mileage upgrades

You can do pretty much the same stuff. All that's different is how they are tuned.

Re: V-10 performance and mileage upgrades

After installing the intake, exhaust and the Superchips tuner find yourself a single-bladed ACCUFAB throttle body. Talk about airflow inprovement!! Maybe drop that silly stock cooling fan for a set of electric fans MUCH easier to get the engine moving.
