V-10 specs

Can someone please give me the V-10 specs for all years in production. I am making a comparison sheet of gas and diesels of the major manufacturers. Thanks!

Re: V-10 specs

I know that for 03' the v-10 has 310 hp and 425 ft.lbs. of torque. I believe this is the same for 01' and 02' I know the motor had less power in 99' but no details there.

Re: V-10 specs

If making a chart of the major brands and motors HP/Torque specifications you need to remember that there is a difference between manufactures and how they rate their motors, even within a range of engines from a specific manufacture.

Rear wheel HP is hard to translate to flywheel HP and so on.

Sometimes a rating is deliberatly misstated for CAFE, insurance, or other marketing reasons. This rating may be higher , but usually lower than any actual HP/Torque figure.

Another mistake in any comparison is the RPM listed may not directly relate to another engines spec. Very hard to do a good apple to apple comparison.

I also found when doing MY big truck, V10,V8, diesel "research", that many, (chevy, dodge, ford, toyota) specs are coded with a sub or superscript number, carot^, or asterix*.... this usually means ther are "exclusions" or special conditions, and are not representative of all makes or models... very frustrating

Good luck.... I finally just went and drove a boat load of trucks before I decided on this one (in the end negociated price ultimatly won out)

Re: V-10 specs

Thanks guys.

I know all the varying brands rate them at different RPM, etc, etc, drivers use the power in different ways, different gearing. The charts are just for fun. Kind of like someone saying, "Oh, my Ford Mustang or Chevy Camaro has 500 HP" while an OTR truck drive says, "My Kenworth puts 500 HP out too." But the KW may have 18 gears and 2000 lb/ft of torque.

But I get your point, lol, thanks.
