V-10 supercharger: who has 'em?

I heard of a Whipplecharger two months ago, and I think Vortec is working on one. Who makes one today?

More importantly: who has used them on their trucks and what are the results?

Re: V-10 supercharger: who has 'em?

We are in the final testing stages of our system right now. The system is going to use our V2-SQ supercharger set up to make 8-9 psi of boost. The preliminary dyno results were 323rwhp on my 2000 V10 auto w/ 4.30ls and 35" Mud T/A's. Prior to the s/c it made 215rwhp. That's already a 50% increase in power!!! The fuel calibration was really fat so we are going to take just a smidge of fuel out of it. You could probably expect approx. 350rwhp by the time it hits the shelves. It should be ready for retail consumption (along with the 5.4 SD)by the end of Oct. I will post final dyno numbers as soon as they're available. Take care.

p.s. Paxton Automotive currently offers a system for the V10 Superduty.

Kenne Bell makes a supercharger for the V10.
It takes of 3 seconds in zero to 60 times.
Increase of 130hp and 125Ib-ft.

A friend of mine said that blowers or superchargers actually give you more mpg,s. Is this true? He said its because if forces more air into the cylinders. My thinking says more air requires more fuel. What gives?

Re: V-10 supercharger: who has 'em?

When using a centrifugal supercharger, your engine spends the vast majority of its operating time in vacuum. Much like it would with a turbo. In non-boost conditions it is not unheard of to see anywhere from 1-3mpg increase in fuel economy. This is because the compressor is actually increasing the overall efficiency of the engine while in vac. Once you take it into boost, is when the more air means more fuel theory comes in full effect. In that situation, fuel economy could suffer miserably depending on you driving style.
