V-10 X Hard Start

The X starts hard for the first start of the day. Overnight temps in low 50s high 40s. It will start with a little throttle but will die if you let off. 80,000 miles on it. Any ideas?

Re: V-10 X Hard Start

I'd check the idle air control valve first. It's probably just dirty and needs a good cleaning.

Re: V-10 X Hard Start

My first thought is also IAC valve, but there are a few other considerations bacause of your Port Orchard WA location.

Carefully cheack the battery condition, the grounds, and your fuel system.

I say fuel system because the fuel filter gets over looked a lot and they can have a dramatic effect on fuel presure at start if fairly old.

And your location is WET/Humid a LOT so all the ground straps can get corrosion between the ground lug and the body/frame metal.
