V10 Auto vs. 5 speed gas mileage

Please post some gas mileages with 2001 V10 Auto and 5 speed.

Plus, how does everyone like their 5 speeds?

Re: V10 Auto vs. 5 speed gas mileage

Love the 5 speed with the 4:30 LS axle. With 2200 miles on the engine, I am averaging between 11 mpg -12 mpg. I expect the mileage to go up a little as the engine breaks in and when the weather warms.

One suggestion. Improve the exhaust system. I have the Banks Stinger System with no chip and loved the results. More power definitely but I do not know about mileage due to the weather and the truck being so new. I will be installing a header and Y-Pipe combo in the spring. That should improve things even more. I have not put a chip in the truck because I do not like paying $1.80 per gallon for 92 octane.

Hope this info helps.

I get ~10.3 mpg on average with mainly city driving. I got ~10.5 mpg before the lift with the stock tires. When I go 80-85mph pulling a 3000 lb trailer I get about 7mpg
