V10 Auto- what RPM is redline?

I would like to know what is the normal redline and shift points with the auto trans. My 2002 seems to be set to shift about 4800rpm's. I thought this was a little low and wondered if anyone shifted theirs by hand and what the safe limit is? thanks.

i think it depends on how you drive. When i'm not towing anything and put it down, it shifts at 5,000 between 1st and 2nd, and at 4,700 between 2nd and 3rd. however, with a load, such as a 2 place snowmobile trailer, with machines, it will bring the r's right up to 5,500 between 1st and second and around 5,000 between 2nd and 3rd. i think the computer adjusts to the driving conditions, and determines your shiftpoints. the harder your drive, the longer it will hold it in gear.
