Wild MPG change

Okay, 03 F350 CC LB SW 4x4 v-10

I drive to the lake with just clothes and what not. MPG 12.9 normal
Hookup the 5th whaeel and pull to the campground, spend the week and drive back to lake property. 9.2 MPG normal

Leave the property, Stop at WalMart, fill up with 87 octaine which is what I have been using since new. One thing, station was having tank problems and 87 was all you could get.

So I leave and travel about 65 miles on 2 lane to expressway, some stop and go and lights, ran 70 when I could. Got to expressway and glanced at MPG and it said 14.5 MPG!!!! No Way!!!

Took expressway home about another 60 something miles and when I got home it said 15.9 MPG. I've never seen that.

So when I filled up sure enough around 15.5 MPG. I can't explain it but I'm back to the old mileage.

One suggestionStation may have mix all 3 octaines, 87, 89, 92, because they were having tank issues which were being replaced. But I have tried 92 and 93 once or twice before and never seen that.

Anyone have any ideas?

Maybe your neighbor or brother-n-law snuck in at night and installed a HHO generator.

Did you notice any power difference when you were getting the 15mpg?
