Would you buy again

I'm ready to go to the local dealer and make a purchase just would like to know if you would buy your truck again after what ever lenght of time you have owned it with the flutter and piston slap problems. I will be buying a 01 F250 SD CC SRW Lariat 4x4 156" V10 Off Road Camper Auto 3.73LS , Any suggestions. Currently own F250 with 460 auto
so mileage not a big issue.

Re: Would you buy again

Yes I would, In fact Im going with a 2002 next year and getting the V-10 and 4.30 gears, it's a good hard working truck. And you got a lot of power reserve when you like to eat those rice burning civics with coffee cans as an exhaust

Definitely!!! I've had mine for almost 3 weeks now. I know that isn't a long time and I don't have much to go on, but i'd definitely buy another.

Re: Would you buy again

Yes I would, in fact...I did! I had a 99 F250 SuperDuty Regular Cab, and I sold it because I needed an Extended cab. So now I have what is in my signature...which is "V--10 Power's" twin, from what I hear...

Re: Would you buy again

I definitely would. I bought the 2001 even though my 99 was nothing but problems. 2001 so far is much better. GM and Dodge from what I have read have bigger problems and they are not as willing to fix or acknowledge noises /vibrations. GM has BIG problems with there new engines. At least with my experience from Ford they do try to make fixes. Some good/Some bad but at least an attempt!

Re: Would you buy again

Most Definitely!! I've only had mine since the end of October (see my signature) but I think that's long enough to develop an opinion. I seem to be settled in at about 13 mpg which is only slightly less than my previous 5.8L and a lot better than my previous 460s. I love the V10; the way it feels, the way it sounds, and the way it pulls. Yes, I would do it again.

And the truck itself is awesome. I have not been able to find even one little thing that I dislike or need to take it back to the dealer for. This is, without a doubt, the nicest truck I've ever had. And I've been driving them (mostly Fords) for over 30 years.

You'll be glad you got the CrewCab. This is my first CC. I've had two previous SuperCabs and Im glad I went with the CC; lots of room and much more convenient.

Steve

Re: Would you buy again

It seems like there's a lot of guys buying a new truck each year. I bought my first SD in 6/98 (a F350 SC SRW) and traded it in almost 2 years later for a y2k F350 CC DRW. Both were V10 with 4.30 gears. No major problems with either and I'd buy another if I needed to.

I can't afford to buy a new one each year, but I needed a dually and wanted the crew cab. I see you're getting the camper package. If you plan on actually carrying a camper, you'll be sorely disappointed with what your camper certifications says. I'm guessing maybe 1500 lbs. You'll be hard pressed to find a camper you can legally carry! Double check those numbers if you plan on towing or hauling!

Re: Would you buy again

V10--Power,
Actually no, the Lightning really hauls the mail when you step on it. There is nothing else that I have ever driven that launches as hard as the L. The Cobra R is a whole different animal. It is actually pretty mellow until you get to around 4000 rpm then hang on.

If F--d puts out a vehicle that is guaranteed to make you happy, healthy and rich, I still won't buy it! I demand better customer service from a company!

Re: Would you buy again

summitx, it's obvious that you've had problems with Ford. I did too, but they corrected it. I hope that your problems get corrected to your satisfaction. I had a GM previously and ANY warranty problems were a major hassle. I placed so many calls to GMs headquarters, it was ridiculous. Their cust. service reps were total a**holes too. They wanted to leave MARGINAL parts, ball joints, tie rod ends, etc., in the front end of a vehicle that I owned. How's that for a warranty problem and treating the customer right? Screw GM! SamC

Re: Would you buy again

Thanks for all the info my dealer was unable to locate me the truck I want so it's on order now and it's going to be a long 8-9 weeks with the possibilty of 2 more weeks with the Xmas shut down but it will be worth the wait to get exactly what I want.
