"X" Code Spring Swap Web Page

I just finished my spring swap this past weekend, and I made a little web page with a sort of "how to" complete with some pictures. Check it out at...
http://www.archercabin.com/f350.html

Let me know what you think...and remember, it is a very primitive page...

Re: "X" Code Spring Swap Web Page

Very nice work there. I posted my conversion on FD a while back. Your description is pretty close to mine but I had some problems getting the leaf center pins back in the axle due to the track bar. I ended up having to loosen both sides at one time. I was trying to keep one side on the ground for safety to. You also didn't mention how much lift you got. Very important information for those contemplating the swap.

Re: "X" Code Spring Swap Web Page

Oh yeah, I got about 1.5" of lift on my SC short bed. I guess I got lucky with the bolts lining up one side at a time.

I did see your earlier post, and used the instructions as a template for when I did my swap.

This site rocks!!!

Re: "X" Code Spring Swap Web Page

I see you upgraded your shocks. Did you have to change from the standard length to a longer shock?? Or does the factory length work just as well?? It seems like you shouldn't have too with the minimal lift you actually produced.

Thanks

I just ordered the standard shocks. I asked the guy at SuperTrucks, and he said that the stock size still give plenty of travel both up and down...
