It has been what, three weeks since the 1st one and I'm starting to plan the next. With the suggestion sheets from Texoma in hand, I have learned what I missed. Thanks to all that handed them in or sent them via e-mail. The first thing I learned was, don't plan the 2nd on your own, ASK FOR HELP. It was fun doing the 1st on my own but, the larger numbers will definately require help. It will also allow for more activities to be planned. Even had one that broke down the coordinators I need, thanks Charles.
We already have three vendors lined up. I'll make sure to have more seminars scheduled and activities for kids and non-PSD enthuisiast planned also.
As for the name, "2nd Annual Powerstroke Get-Together". Most responded that it was appropriate. A few wanted to make it a "regional rally". I am the first to do this so, I feel a "Get-Together" is the way to do it. Even the vendors like it.
As for the time of the year, it must remain in the spring. That is crawfish season.
As for a paid registration, I really hate to ask for money but, if the sponsors aren't there, I'll have to put a fair price on a registration fee. Thanks to all that donated at Texoma, I will never forget that.
Stay tuned to this forum for coordinators needed. E-mail me your interest.
We had 12 states represented at the 1st annual, lets make it 48 next year !!!
Sid,
I had a lot of fun. My wife got bored but she stayed quiet for awhile. She really enjoyed the crawfish. She sat with one of your buddy's with the red supercab set up like yours that had the heeler(dog) with him. I could have stayed out there all day long and even the nights if we could of stayed at the park. My wife agreed to go if we stayed in a hotel. With my job I dont know how much help I can be , but a reg. fee that would be fine with me. talk to you later . Jeff

Sid:
Thnaks again for your work. It was a great weekend. For next year, you need help to work on
1. Local attractions, tours, things to do other than PSD (especially for the ladies.) Get somebody locally to arrange for these after a location is chosen.
2. Registration of attendees, to put together a list, make up name tags, and prepare a packet for each attendee which fully detials everything that is happening.
3. Maybe a budget committee to look at costs and decide what attendance fee to charge.
4. Solicitors of sponsors in the area for seminars and programs.
As I suggested in my evaluation sheet, the primary emphasis should be on getting to know one another as people rather than as different "handles" on a web site.
I can't do much local work from Chicago, but let me know how I can help with general organization and planning. Hope you came out even or better on the donations for the excellent dinner.
Mike
