Maintain, we will be going. We camp about 10 miles from there a couple times a year when the buck has these events. We could not make the earlier one but we will be making this one. Last year I pulled there with my Excursion...I wanted to have my 97 done for this event but $$$ wasn't there for it to happen in time. So I will pulling again with the wifes Ex. I finished a friends truck and he will be pulling...It's a grey Dodge with a ram air hood on it. Another budies truck we finished working on yesturday will be there pulling aswell..It's a silver 05' Dodge with a SRT hood on it. He should run awesome...We set his truck up nice.
I did however notice the Buck has some new rules this year...I hope they don't try to hold everyone to the letter on the new rules. If they do they will only have about 10 trucks that pass tech check.
Well I went and got video's of about 80% of the action and should hopefully have the video up by this coming weekend. I think I saw your truck in the back corner next to another Excursion - are you going to the Chesterfield MD drag races???

Maintain and Powerstrokin05, I should have tried to officially meet up with you guys there...We had an awesome time pulling and drag racing. Yes that was my wifes Excursion parked in the rear corner of the show and shine.I didn't do to bad I guess in the drags, I made it to the 2nd round with the Ex and as for the pulls I was 5th in the 1st heat @ 304ft. I guess out of 18 trucks in the heat 5th is OK for the wifes grocerey getter.(For Now)
I will check with the wife to see what is going on the weekend of the Chesterfield drags! If i can make it I will run a little lighter tire and wheel configuration...Those 20" XD KMC Rockstars and Toyo Open Country MTs are HEAVY!
I am also going to upload some videos of my gang and stuff they did.
My budy Tom in his 05 Dodge didn't do to well in the drags. He wasn't ready when the light changed to green and it was over before it started. He did well in the pulls though. He finished 5th in his heat. He tried 3rd gear 4x4 high and some sparks started to fly out from under his truck as he started to slip it and build boost...So then he put it in 4x4 low 4th gear and did 307ft. Next time we go he is going to try 4x4 low in 5th gear and see what happens....As for the clutch it is fine.
My budy Roger got beat by ME in the first round of drags...He is still getting used to the new turbo and TST module I put on and is getting better every time he gets in the truck...He did Awsome in the pulls though (which is what his turbo is better for) he finished 2nd in the 1st heat and finished 5th overall. Not bad for his first pulling event!
I just found out today that there will be pulling @ the Cecil Co. Fair grounds on tuesday night!

They said the same stuff before and didn't follow it. I believe it was the pull at the end of last summer, I called about the helmet rule for the stock class They said oh yeah, you need a helmet. So I spent all afternoon rounding up a helmet for myself and for my dad to run his truck. We show up and they look at me like an idiot for bringing a helmet to the stock class
The tech inspection was pretty much a joke so unless that's changed then I don't think they stick to tight to any of what is posted on the website. This isn't meant to say that people should try and "cheat" but rather that if you have some dumb little thing that would officially put you out of the stock class, you probably don't need to worry about it. I wasn't technically legal but I knew I wasn't going to win or even come close and I wasn't doing anything dangerous so who cares, just doing it for fun.
Nope, They actually addressed that during the drivers meating before the event...One guy said "how is it fair if one truck has a Ranch Hand or Road Armor bumper that weighs ~300lbs vs a guy with a stock bumper that weighs ~60lbs" The trac officials said that they have no problem with the aftermarket bumpers...They have a problem with somebody having a bumper that looks like the truck is in the pro class..."a box full of wieghts"...Then the guy said " Well your rulls state that it MUST be an OEM bumper". The officials said that they are aware of what their rulls state and they wrote them that way to keep people from installing "weight box type bumpers". They also said that the tech rulls are always up to their discresion...and they will always make it as far as possible for everyone.
ok, i want to hook mine up to a sled eventually, and was just curoius. i have a custom 8 inch c channel with all my front tow points incorperated. weighs about 70-90 lbs.

Watch your total weight! Can't be over 8000lbs! They wouldn't let me pull. I was 8575.
